Mahanidhi Madan Gopal Das
Once, in Navadvīpa Dhāma, during Gaura Pūrṇimā—also known as Holi Pūrṇimā—Vamsidas Babaji announced that he had no objection to people throwing colored powder upon him. Hearing this, the people joyfully began offering colors to Babaji as a form of worship.
Throughout the entire day, Vamsidas Babaji remained silently seated inside his cottage while people showered him with brightly colored powders. Because he was fasting for Gaura Pūrṇimā, he neither ate nor drank anything.
One after another, thousands of people came to participate in this extraordinary festival. Gradually, Vamsidas Babaji became completely covered with colored powder until he resembled a great, colorful hill. Yet Babaji remained peacefully seated, silently accepting everything.
Ho! Ho! Holi hai!
