A Market Argument
Two merchants quarreled noisily over a small coin. Akbar was irritated and fined them both.

Birbal’s Remark
“For the sake of one coin, they lost their voice, their peace, and their honor.”

The King’s Agreement
He declared, “Some things cost more in noise than they are worth in value.”

Lesson to Be Learned
Peace is more precious than profit. A devotee learns to tolerate, to forgive, and to let go of what disturbs the mind. Silence with dignity is better than argument without end.
