An Empty Basket
One day, a villager came to the emperor’s court carrying an empty basket. He claimed, “I’ve brought you the wind from the mountains!”
Akbar’s Displeasure
The emperor grew irritated, but Birbal stepped in. “And I receive it gratefully,” Birbal said, bowing to the man. “Even if we can’t see it, the wind cools and refreshes.”
Changing the Mood
Akbar smiled. “Indeed, some gifts are felt, not seen.”
Lesson to Be Learned
Not all service is visible. The Lord accepts even silent offerings of the heart. Faith, like wind, moves without form, but transforms the atmosphere. Quiet devotion can touch the Divine just as much as loud rituals.
