An Impossible Claim
A man came boasting, “My cow gives ghee directly, not milk!” The people laughed, thinking him mad, but Akbar, amused, summoned Birbal to test the claim.
Birbal’s Strategy
Birbal brought a pot of ghee and poured it into water. As it floated, he said, “Even ghee comes from milk, through effort. There is no shortcut in life.”
Truth Revealed
The man confessed it was a ploy to gain fame. The emperor warned him never to deceive again.
Lesson to Be Learned
In both material and spiritual life, shortcuts are illusory. Bhakti is a process of purification, like turning milk into ghee. One must chant, serve, and patiently wait for the Lord’s grace. Kṛṣṇa is not purchased by tricks but by sincere effort and devotion.
