A Burning Complaint
A woman came to court claiming, “My neighbor set fire to my hut, and the flames spoke to me!” The court laughed, thinking she was mad.

Birbal’s Understanding
Birbal asked gently, “What did the fire say?” The woman replied, “It told me I was poor and unwanted.” Tears filled her eyes. Birbal stood up solemnly.

Justice with Compassion
He turned to the emperor, “The fire didn’t speak with words—but with action. It revealed the cruelty of her neighbor.” The accused was punished and the woman compensated.

Lesson to Be Learned
Sometimes injustice speaks louder than words. The Lord hears even the unspoken cries of the oppressed. As Kṛṣṇa says, “I am the well-wisher of all living beings.” A devotee must reflect the Lord’s compassion in both heart and deed.
