A Tale from a Traveler
A man claimed to have seen a tree that grew golden fruit. Many scoffed, but Akbar turned to Birbal.
Birbal’s Interpretation
He said, “Every tree that bears fruit of generosity and wisdom is a tree of gold. It enriches those around it.”
The Emperor Agreed
“A tree that feeds the soul is more precious than one that shines.”
Lesson to Be Learned
Trees that give shade and fruit do not ask for anything in return. The saintly live like trees—nourishing all. One who serves without pride bears golden fruit in the eyes of the Lord.
