A Curious Scroll
Akbar received a letter signed with no name—only the words, “Your servant.” He was confused. “Who sent this?”
Birbal’s Smile
“It is from one who loves without needing recognition. Such is the spirit of real service.”
The Emperor’s Joy
Akbar kept the letter and said, “May I one day become that kind of servant myself.”
Lesson to Be Learned
The greatest servants desire no fame. They offer their lives quietly, joyfully, only for the Lord’s pleasure. The gopīs of Vṛndāvana served this way—without desire for recognition, only longing for the Lord’s smile.
