One afternoon, Birbal walked through the court holding a lit lamp. Akbar asked, “Why a lamp in daylight?”
Birbal’s Answer
“To search for an honest man,” he replied. “In the brightness of knowledge, many still live in darkness.”
Akbar Understood
He nodded thoughtfully, “Then let us light lamps within, not just without.”
