A Prisoner’s Story
A man in court pleaded, “I am chained by invisible ropes of karma!” The courtiers mocked him.
Birbal’s Clarification
He explained, “Indeed, invisible habits and desires bind us more tightly than iron. A man who cannot control anger or lust is more imprisoned than one behind bars.”
Akbar’s Wisdom
“Then the strongest chains,” he said, “are the ones we carry within.”
Lesson to Be Learned
Karma and conditioning hold the soul tightly, though unseen. Liberation begins when we turn inward, cut the cords of selfish desire, and surrender to the Lord. Chanting the holy name loosens the knots of bondage.
