A Forgotten Treasure
A servant found an old coin buried in the garden. It was dirty, but valuable.
Birbal’s Lesson
He showed the court, “Even covered in dust, the coin’s worth remains. So too, even a fallen soul retains eternal value.”
Akbar’s Humility
“Then let me never judge by appearance,” he said.
Lesson to Be Learned
The soul is eternally pure, though it may be buried in lifetimes of forgetfulness. Just as a coin is not destroyed by mud, the jīva is not destroyed by sin. Clean it with devotion, and its glory shines.
