Once while wandering in the forest of Dandakaranya, Lord Rama while talking to his brother Lakshmana was standing.
As He was standing, he put his bow to rest on the ground.
Soon Lakshmana noticed that Rama’s bow was resting on a frog. Do to the heaviness of the bow the frog was struggling to survive.
Rama immediately took off the bow and took the frog in his hand. Lord Rama asked the frog, “Why are you silent. Why you didn’t speak up and all for help when you are experiencing pain?”
The frog, who was self-realized soul, replied: “When other living entities hurt me, I always call your name “Rama Rama” – but here it is you giving me the pain, who else can I call?
The pain you are giving me I accept as Your great blessing.”
Reflections on the story:
A devotee always accepts everything as the mercy of the Lord. In happiness or distress, he turns to Lord throw chanting his holy names. He sees the suffering he experienced just as s opportunity to intensify his chanting and dependence from the Lord.
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
