A Humble Gift
A poor man gifted Akbar a mirror with a cracked edge. “This is all I have,” he said, “but it reflects truth.”

Akbar’s Question
“Why offer a broken mirror?” The man replied, “Even a broken one shows your real face.”

Birbal’s Addition
“The poor reflect our soul. If we ignore them, we ignore ourselves.”

Lesson to Be Learned
The Lord resides in the hearts of all, especially the humble. To serve the poor is to serve God. See each person as a mirror reminding you of your eternal identity: a servant of Kṛṣṇa.
