An Odd Complaint
A man came to court saying, “My mirror shows nothing!” Akbar, amused, asked Birbal to investigate.
Birbal’s Discovery
The man had covered the glass with a thin cloth, thinking it would protect it. Birbal said, “Remove the covering, and the mirror will reflect again.”
The Real Message
He turned to the court, “So too the heart—when covered by pride or doubt—cannot reflect the divine. Remove the veil, and God will appear.”
Lesson to Be Learned
Kṛṣṇa is already present within. But the coverings of lust, anger, and ego hide His reflection. A cleansed heart becomes a mirror of divinity. Remove the veil through sādhana and surrender.
