Kalki’s Restlessness to Act

As Kalki grew into a radiant young man in Śambhala, He could no longer tolerate the unrighteousness that plagued the earth. Brāhmaṇas were insulted, women dishonored, the Vedas forgotten, and tyrants ruled in every direction.

Though divine in power, He waited patiently—until the call from above was given.

His heart burned not with hatred, but with compassion for the suffering jīvas. He longed not for conquest, but for restoration of dharma.

Guidance from the Sage Yajñavalkya

One day, the venerable sage Yajñavalkya visited Śambhala. Recognizing Kalki as none other than Lord Nārāyaṇa, he bowed with reverence and instructed Him in the mysteries of the Para-Tantra, the transcendental science of warfare and righteousness. He taught Him mantras, scriptures, and the use of celestial weapons—gifts from the gods.

The sage blessed Him, saying:

“You are the final hope of this world. Arise now. Take up your weapons, restore dharma, and light the darkened earth with your presence.”

Receiving the Horse Devadatta

At that moment, the sky thundered with celestial music. From the heavens descended a white horse of divine origin, glowing like the moon, adorned with gold ornaments and jewel-encrusted reins. This horse was Devadatta, the very same who had served Lord Indra in past ages, now sent to aid Lord Kalki.

Devadatta neighed, bowed before Kalki, and stood loyally at His side.

The Lord mounted Him. As He did, Devadatta’s body became enveloped in effulgent flames, and he soared into the sky—a horse that could fly faster than thought itself.

Receiving Celestial Weapons

Soon after, the demigods appeared—Indra, Yama, Kubera, Varuṇa, and Agni—each offering their divine weapons:

  • Śiva gave Him a trident and a sword sharper than lightning.
  • Kāmadeva gave Him a bow that never missed its mark.
  • Indra gave Him the thunderbolt and divine armor.

They praised Him with Vedic hymns, saying:

“O Lord of the Universe, You are our protector. May your mission be victorious. All forces of righteousness are now with You.”

The Lord of the Age Begins His Mission

Armed and empowered, Kalki rode forth, blazing like the sun, crowned with compassion, clothed in courage. Devadatta’s hooves sparked fire across the sky. The earth trembled. Evil kings felt fear in their hearts. The final yuga-avatāra had arisen.

Lessons to Be Learned:

  • The Lord accepts training and blessings from saints, showing humility even as the Supreme.
  • The power of a mission lies not just in weapons, but in the purity of purpose and alignment with dharma.
  • Even the Lord chooses gurus and advisors, honoring the tradition of receiving knowledge from sages.
  • When we align with righteousness, divine support comes from every direction—as weapons, allies, and insight.
